Verified business badge (green tick)

The verified business badge is a mark shown next to a business's name on WhatsApp to show that Meta has confirmed it is authentic. It was long known as the green tick. Meta now uses a blue verified badge, in line with its other apps.

How to get it

1. Complete business verification in Meta Business Manager, with documents that prove your business is real.
2. Apply for the badge for your WhatsApp Business number, either through Meta's verified subscription for businesses or through the official business account application where available.

Approval is at Meta's discretion. It often depends on how well known and notable the business is, for example coverage in independent media.

Do you need it?

No. Unverified businesses can use the API fully. The badge helps customers trust that a message is really from you, which can matter for banks, airlines and well-known brands.

Display name

Separately from the badge, Meta reviews your display name so it matches your business. A clear, accurate name helps customers recognise you even without the badge.
